The God Story of a Biker
and now a F.A.I.T.H. Rider
I grew up in a "Christian" family. I knew if I did more good things than bad in the end I would get into Heaven. I taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, counseled at church summer camp. I did try tobacco and got to smoking 2 packs a day. I drank alcohol with my friends and got falling down drunk a few times. I was involved in other sin patterns. I tried to make up for the sin in my life by doing extra good things. However, I did not know for certain that I would go to Heaven when I died, but knew I was a good person overall.
When I was 21 and attending the University of Oklahoma, I went to a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting. Dave Hannah was the chapter director. The meeting place was crowded and I was sitting under a grand piano. Dave said, God loves us and has a wonderful plan for our lives. But that man is sinful and separated from God, thus he can not know and experience God’s plan for his life. Dave said, Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through Him we can know God’s love and plan for our lives. However we must receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord by personal invitation. Sitting in that crowded meeting place on November 5, 1964, I realized that all the good I had done was for nothing and I ask God to forgive me for all the sins I had committed and asked Jesus to come into my heart and take control of my life. And He did!
Since then I found a Godly girl to marry. We had one child a son who has turned into a Godly man with his own Godly wife. I had a full time job where I was able to present a Christian witness. I worked with boys mission organizations in local churches, drove church buses, and sang with the choirs. Now the “good” things I do, I do because I want to do them. Not because I have to balance the sin I commit with good deeds.
Most of all I know beyond a doubt that I will go to Heaven when I die and nothing can take that away from me. You too can be sure that you will go to Heaven. Read and follow the 4 spiritual laws below.
Four Spiritual Laws
1) God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. Jn 3:16, 10:10
2) Man is sinful and separated from God, thus he can not know and experience God’s plan for his life. Rom 3:23, 6:23
3) Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through Him you can know God’s love and plan for your life. Rom 5:8, Jn 14:6
4) We must receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord by personal invitation.
Jn 3:1-8; 1:12, Rev 3:20 1Jn 5:11-13
