LOST- The Final Season is at last here. With a great deal of anticipation as well as expectation, I was looking forward to this “final season” of one of the most popular television shows in history. Somehow I thought that ultimately all of my questions would be answered or at least a few of them. Reality hit me after tuning into the first few episodes. Clarity is farther away than ever. I am totally LOST!
Numerous questions arise as I keep watching this series. Questions like why do I relentlessly tune into a show that only makes me feel as if I am further LOST! How can such a pointless show entice me to watch it over and over again with rarely any answers to my questions? Seriously, think about it. Why would anyone who had been rescued leave their home and return to a dreadful island to be LOST again? Hopefully, even though I don’t have many answers at present. Clarity will come.Even so, I will continue watching until the final episode, eager fortheir safe return home.Yet, I know that I am not the only one watching!
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of attending an amazing praise and worship service called Night of Praise. While loving my Lord through song, suddenly the awareness of how lost I had been before I met Jesus overwhelmed me and tears began to flow. Many would ask me the question, “how lost can you be at the age of seven?” My answer with certainty is that I was totally lost.Lost without a future, lost without a purpose and lost without hope.Because of the realization of a need for a Savior at the age of seven I was rescued.
As I tune into Him and His Word, my way is clear. No more paths of doubt and worries. No roads to nowhere, only roads with a hope, a plan and a purpose for my life. Continuing with Him gives clarity to my countless questions.Yes, I once was Lost but Jesus found me. He rescued me from my island of Lost. Thankfully, without a doubt, I will never have to return to that awful place again. I found my way HOME!
Luke 15:20-24 (HCSB)
20 So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him
and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. 21 The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I’m no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 "But the father told his slaves, ‘Quick! Bring out the best robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Then bring the fattened calf and slaughter it, and let’s celebrate with a feast, 24 because this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.
