Truth and Testimony
I always begin a "visit" [pastor-speak for 'counseling session'] by asking the two present the same, simple question: "Are you willing?" Usually one, the one who initiated the meeting in the first place, will answer in the affirmative. The second one, the one who really needs to be willing, asks for clarification, "Willing to do what?" My response is usually, "Willing to be, to think, to say, and to do whatever it takes."
The "My316" challenge begins with the same question, really. "Are you willing?" Literally, "Are you willing to take it [the challenge to share God's truth and your personal testimony of how He's changed your life] personally? As Christians, we must base our faith and therefore our following of our Lord Jesus Christ [Matt 4:19], on the sovereignty of God, and the authority of His pure, perfect, and powerful Word. God declares that Jesus Christ is Lord and that we are sinners--both by our nature and by our choices. To be saved, we must confess, agree, literally, say the same thing that God does -- that Jesus is Lord [confessing that He is MY Lord] and we must confess that we are [I am a, first person singular] sinners in need of God, His grace and His mercy.
